Chiu) In this paper, a simple and low temperature fabrication process, slow spin rate coating and dry etching, is proposed to construct the CNT-interconnects for future VLSI interconnect applications. Two sets of CNTinterconnects named width and length varying interconnects were fabricated to investigate the characterization of size dependent conductivity of CNT-interconnects. Not only the amount of the CNT solution spin-coated for forming the CNT networks but also the area of CNT-interconnect regime would affect the conductance, variation, and conductive probability of CNT-interconnects. The yield of working CNT-interconnects does not show direct relation with the conductive probability or the amount of the CNT solution for CNT network formation. Based on the percolation theory, we characterize the average conductance of size-varying CNT-interconnects by three regions: percolation region, power region and linear region. In addition, as the density within a specified CNT-interconnect regime accumulates, the conductive behavior would be eventually characterized as a conventional resistor. 2013 Elsevier Ltd. Solidification and thermal performance analysis of the low carbon steel during the continuous casting process

The present paper evaluates the effect of the nozzle characteristics on the heat transfer and phase change of the low carbon steel during the continuous casting process. A three-dimensional energy equation and a solidification model are used to drive the governing equation of the phase change and temperature distribution. A linear relation is obtained to predict the temperature-dependent of the...

An Improvement in Thermal and Rheological Properties of Water-based Drilling Fluids Using Multiwall Carbon Nanotube (MWCNT)

Designing drilling fluids for drilling in deep gas reservoirs and geothermal wells is a major challenge. Cooling drilling fluids and preparing stable mud with high thermal conductivity are of great concern. Drilling nanofluids, i.e. a low fraction of carbon nanotube (CNT) well dispersed in mud, may enhance the mixture thermal conductivity compared to the base fluids. Thus, they are potentially ...

Flexible high-conductivity carbon-nanotube interconnects made by rolling and printing.

Applications of carbon nanotubes (CNTs) in flexible and complementary metal-oxide-semiconductor (CMOS)-based electronic and energy devices are impeded due to typically low CNT areal densities, growth temperatures that are incompatible with device substrates, and challenges in large-area alignment and interconnection. A scalable method for continuous fabrication and transfer printing of dense ho...
